Horus Emulator
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This policy describes how the Horus Emulator Android app handles data. The app is provided by Horus Emulator. Contact: contact@horusemulator.com.
1. Data on your device
Horus manages a game library, preferences, controls, game saves, save states, and cover art. This information is primarily stored on your device. ROM files are read from files or folders you choose using Android's Storage Access Framework. Horus does not upload your ROMs or save files to servers operated by Horus.
2. Internet access and cover art
To retrieve cover art, the app may request images from thumbnails.libretro.com using the game's name. As with requests to any external server, the provider may receive technical request information, including your IP address and the requested image path. Horus does not control that provider's log retention practices.
3. Backups
You can manually export or restore backups by selecting a file or location through Android. If you choose a third-party storage service, its own data practices apply. Android may also automatically back up or transfer some Horus data depending on your device and Google account settings. These features are provided by Android/Google rather than Horus-operated servers.
4. Sensors and input
The app may use touchscreen, gamepad, and device sensor input to emulate game features. We do not use this input for advertising profiles.
5. Accounts, ads, and analytics
Horus 1.0 requires no user account, contains no advertising, and does not integrate a Horus-operated analytics or user-tracking system. The app does not ask for your name, postal address, or email address to emulate games. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message so we can respond.
6. Retention, deletion, and security
Local Horus data remains until you delete it in the app, clear its Android storage, or uninstall, except for external files and backups you saved elsewhere. You can manage those copies at their chosen destination. Support emails are retained as needed to handle your request and can be deleted upon request by email. App data is protected using Android's private storage and access controls.
7. Website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. The hosting provider may process technical connection and security data necessary to deliver the website. This site does not run Horus advertising or analytics scripts.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy if Horus features or services change. The latest update date appears on this page. For privacy questions, contact contact@horusemulator.com.
